Believe it or not, the summary below has... One hundred words. Wow. It summarises the battle of Long Tan.

 

 

 The battle of Long Tan occurred on the 18th August 1966. The battle occurred in the Vietnam War, and consisted of the Australian army against the Viet Cong. During the battle, D Company 6 RAR was heavily outnumbered, but by using tactics, succeeding in winning the battle, with only 18 Australians killed and 24 wounded, whilst the at least 245 Viet Cong soldiers were killed. After this battle, the Australians were able to exert dominance over the province Puc Tuy. This battle is commonly cited as an example of how superior tactics can turn the tide of a battle, despite inferior resources.
